University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, School of Medicine
This project aims to help improve cognitive function in OEF/OIF/OND veterans with traumatic brain injuries and posttraumatic stress disorder. It involves the following:
- Veterans will be paid $250 and a participating family member will receive $100 for initial data collection at UNC.
- Afterward, there will be in-home support sessions to help Veterans using an iPod Touch(r) for improving memory and planning skills.
- Six months later, Veterans will be paid another $250 and the family member another $100 for follow-up data collection at UNC.
- Veterans will also get to keep their iPod Touch(r) after the study is completed.
We have begun recruiting participants and wanted to talk with you about how best to let potential participants know the study. I realize you are busy, but if we could set up a brief time to talk, that would be great. If there are any times you are available in the next week or so, please let me know and how best to contact you then. There is more information on the attached flyer–please distribute the flyer to members of your organization as appropriate. Feel free to call or email if you have any questions. Thank you!
