HISTORY
In August 1972, Association President Kenneth
Newbold appointed the Wives Involvement Ad-hoc Committee for
the purpose of generating Guard wives interest in the Guard
and getting them involved.
In 1974, the North Carolina National Guard
Association Ladies Auxiliary was voted into existence and was
the first in the United States. The Auxiliary was
chartered by the State of North Carolina on May 7, 1980.
In 1988, the Auxiliary changed its name to the North Carolina
National Guard Association Auxiliary (NCNGA Auxiliary).
The Auxiliary is governed by an elected Board
of Directors and is comprised of the following:
President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter
Historian, Immediate Past President and Chaplain. The
officers, with the exception of the Immediate Past President
are elected by the membership at the annual meeting. The
Chaplain is appointed by the President.
