Veteran’s can use this website to check on status for claims with the VA:

VA Inquiry Routing & Information System (IRIS)

The VBA employee (VSR) working that case has 5 business days to respond with a real answer on claims and other processing within the VBA. The person answering the 800#, cannot always see what is really happening during the adjudication process and may not always be able to give the most accurate information. Plus if there is a delay in the processing, it does bring that particular claim back to the attention of the VSR and can make a difference on the time it takes to resolve. The Veteran decides on how the VARO contacts them, via mail, email or phone call.

A new link on our home page “Write to Congress” leads to a tool on the NGAUS website. Enter your zip-code, then you can send a pre-written email chosen from a list of Guard related issues to your local officials.  Also note that Georgia is number 1 at utilizing this tool. North Carolina is number 36. We are way ahead of Guam and the Virgin Islands but we are getting smoked by Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi and %70 of the other states. Take action here and be competitive too. It is easy.
