Fund Raising
The Association has at present 3 new revenue sources that it is pursuing. Two are long term and one is short term. They long term efforts are the Corporate Sponsor Program and the E-Commerce Program. The short term program is the Legacy Bridge Program.
PROGRAM SYNOPSIS
1. Corporate Sponsor Program. This program has been very successful in other states. It is a tiered program providing different benefits for different levels of participation by sponsors. The proposed levels range from bronze at $1000 to platinum at $5000. Each of the levels receives admission and booth space at the Association’s Annual Convention. Our long time exhibitors who have faithfully supported our past conventions will be allowed to continue at the exhibitor rate of $500 so long as they continue to attend the conventions. They can of course upgrade to corporate sponsor level at any time. If they miss a year they must reenter as a corporate sponsor. The expected revenue is between $20,00-35,000 per year. We hope to begin receiving payments in the last quarter of 2010. A brochure outlining the program will be produced shortly and forwarded to you.
2. E-Commerce. This program is a work in progress. It will use the Association’s web site to generate funds through online purchasing. Anyone who clicks on a link to a company advertising or shown on our website will generate a percentage of the purchase price to the Association. The expected revenue is difficult to determine but hopefully will be in the $20,000-24,000 range per year. While there are technical and legal issues to address, we hope to begin receiving monies in the first quarter of 2011.
3. Legacy Bridge Program. This program was kicked off on October 1st of this year. It is designed to bridge the gap from today until our long-term revenue sources come fully on line. We estimate that to be 2-3 years. At the same time, these LBP funds will keep us from having to use our investment funds to meet budget needs, which has been the historical precedence. This program targets our Lifetime Members and our Retirees, although everyone is welcome to join, and asks for a one time $100 donation. We expert to generate between $100,00-300,000 in total. We have already begun receiving funds. Please see the attached brochure.
As you can imagine these are all subject to change and we will keep you informed of those changes and the status of each of the 3 programs. We will also be looking for other revenue sources to augment the association’s available resources and to secure our finances permanently. If you have any questions please contact me at any time.
