CAMP C.reate A. M.aster P.lan
The Services to the Armed Forces Division of the American Red Cross is putting on a program that we call CAMP or C.reate A. M.aster P.lan. It is a program designed to give the participants information on disaster preparedness and safety that they can use at home or at play. It is designed to help them develop a plan and know what to do if a disaster strikes.
Our CAMP is aimed at children who live in military households, and each of our “campers” will be supplied and help make a 72-hour disaster kit that they will not only learn how to use but also be able to use in the case of a disaster. We plan on setting up as if there was a disaster and having different stations that represent different parts of a response effort. Stations will include a shelter station, a first aid station, and an emergency response station. At each station the children will learn about safety and what they should do. We plan on it being a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
Our community partners such as the Fire and Police Departments will be providing a smoke house to teach young children the importance of fire alarms and how to exit a house safely during a fire or a bike rodeo to teach children the importance of bike safety. The Fire & Police programs will vary depending upon the location of the event.
A free 72-hour kit will be provided for each child that registers. Feel free to contact me directly if you or your families have any questions. CAMP Flyer-Registration
