The North Carolina National Guard Association (NCNGA) presented the William Polk Award yesterday to Senator Harry Brown. Senator Brown represents Jones and Onslow Counties and has been a supporter of the military here in North Carolina as a business owner as well as an elected official. The award was presented at the association’s Executive Council meeting and given to him for his dedication and support to the NCNGA as well as the National Guard, especially over the past legislative session. The North Carolina National Guard Association (NCNGA) announces its annual Legislative Awards of Appreciation to 4 members of the NC General Assembly. These awards are presented on behalf of the 16,000 members of the NCNGA to key members of the General Assembly for their dedication towards helping to strengthen the support to our soldiers, airmen and their families across North Carolina. The William Polk Award is presented to members of the NC General Assembly (House or Senate) for outstanding contribution and unwavering support of the North Carolina National Guard and the North Carolina National Guard Association. This year’s recipients of the William Polk Award are Representative Nelson Dollar, Representative Justin Burr, Representative Tom Murry & Senator Harry Brown.
Our State has gained a reputation of being the most military friendly in the Nation and their leadership has played a major role. We appreciate the devotion of these individuals to helping us keep a strong and ready National Guard here in our State.
